PROFESSEUR DU FRANÇAIS

We currently have a vacancy for a French teacher to teach three classes per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from mid September until June 2011.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS

Person Specification

You should have a friendly and approachable personality and be fluent and highly competent in the use of the English language. You need to have good organisational and planning skills and the desire to develop as a teacher. Feedback of your performance will be through observations of your teaching and appraisals. You must have either the CELTA or equivalent TEFL qualification, although we will consider applications from persons with a PGCE and some teaching experience. Experience in teaching English as a foreign language is desirable although not necessary as the main skills are a positive attitude, a professional approach to work, friendliness and the ability to work with children and teenagers. You must be able to prove you are legally entitled to work in Spain. Citizens of non-EU countries must be in possession of a valid Spanish work permit.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To teach English/French to different levels and ages of Spanish students from children to teenagers and some adults, leading to internal and external examinations.

To plan effective and suitable lessons following the general content and grammar points as covered in the course books or curriculum for each level.

To plan lessons in advance using the extensive range of resources and facilities available within the school and to achieve the year plan for each level.

To attend weekly internal training sessions and meetings and external training sessions where required.

To provide feedback on the students performance by way of bi-annual reports and where necessary, by speaking to the parents or the DOS.

Further Information

Full time contact hours are from 21 per week. Hours of teaching are typically from Monday to Thursday 4pm until 10pm and Friday 4pm until 8pm, although there are some morning classes.
Dress code is smart but casual. Polo shirts are provided for Monday to Thursday.

Students range from 3 years old to teenagers and some adults. All primary school students receive content based lessons as well.

Knowledge of Spanish language and culture is an advantage.
